Move Every Mountain

Back in 2008 and 2009, life wasn’t going as good as I wanted it to. Ever had those years where it seems like everything went wrong? Well, those were some of ‘those’ years for me. In those times, I used to listen to a lot of Christian music that would inspire me and motivate me to continue on in the strength that God can provide. That is the same hope that I wish to share with you today with this song and videoclip!

The song is about hope; hope in a God who can do the impossible! Jesus says in Matthew 17: He replied,
“Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

And then again in Matthew 21:
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.

My friend, if you have faith in God, which means that if you truly believe and hope onto God that He can do miracles in your life, then I promise you that miracles will begin to happen. Nothing will be impossible. I remember a funny but very inspiring sketch that I saw once.

There was a girl who met Jesus. She told Jesus that she is so dedicated, you would even give her life for Jesus. Jesus was amazed and glad. So Jesus put her to a test. Jesus stood before her and then told her to fall forward. Jesus promised her that He would catch her. She said: “oh yea, piece of cake!” So, she fell forward and Jesus did catch her easily. “Very good” Jesus said. Then Jesus asked her to turn around with her back towards Jesus and then fall backwards. She became a little more reluctance, but after taking a quick peak in the back and saw that Jesus was right there, she trusted again and fell backwards. Jesus caught her again. She became so glad that she had passed the test. She was bursting with excitement. Then Jesus told her to do it again, but this time when she peaked at the back, Jesus was standing further away. She took more convincing on Jesus’s part to trust that Jesus would indeed catch her. After taking a leap of faith, she finally fell backwards and Jesus ran a caught her again without letting her head hit the floor. She had done it. She was jumping up and around. Hugging Jesus and so happy that she had trusted Jesus despite the difficult condition. Finally, Jesus had one final test for her. Jesus told her to face him again. She felt so ready, so confident in whatever Jesus was going to say until… Jesus said: “fall backwards now.” She stopped flabbergasted. She looked at the back and asked if Jesus had an assistance over there that would catch her. Jesus said no and that He would catch her like He always did so far. She started giving Jesus some advice. Telling Jesus that maybe He should stand behind her again or at least call an angel to assist Him. Jesus reminded her that He is Lord; that He can do impossible things and that she should trust Him. But despite Jesus’s words, she refused to fall backwards. She felt as if it was too much. Then Jesus asked her: “How can you die for me if you can’t even trust me?”

My question to you: what would you do if Jesus asked you to fall backwards while you were facing him? Would you do as the girl did and refuse to do it or will you take a leap of faith? I want to encourage you to put your trust in God. He is a miracle-working God. Nothing and I mean NOTHING is impossible for Him. Trust in Him and you will see how every mountain will move from your way or become easier to climb and beat!
